About Your Teacher
Catherine Clobucker (Ms. Clo) earned her MA in English Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and her BA in Creative Writing & English at San Francisco State University.
This is her 7th year teaching at Gateway, and her 5th year teaching Creative Writing. In addition, Ms. Clobucker teaches the Journalism/Yearbook class and runs the Gateway High School Library. Ms. Clobucker is also a writer, and is working on her first novel, a Young Adult fiction book. She is more than half way finished, and hopes to self-publish by 2015. She also write short stories, and enjoys sharing her writing with her students. Her love for writing poetry vanished around the age of 22, but she is re-discovering it through teaching poetry.
She grew up in Healdsburg, California, just 70 miles north of San Francisco. She lived on the east coast for 5 years, but missed the Pacific Ocean and the fog in San Francisco, and happily returned in 2008 to teach at Gateway High School.
This year Ms. Clobucker hopes to have all of her Creative Writing students publish their own writing, either by creating a class anthology, or on an online writing website.
